Bob: Maybe the answer to your question is that Playboy still seems to be stuck on their traditional platinum blond/implants template when it comes to official POTM in the hard copy magazine.
I’ve noticed that whoever makes the decisions about POTM (editors? photogs?) in the hard-copy magazine sticks to a much more rigid formula than the producers and photogs of Playboy’s web properties. And I think in the case of the latter, they’re smart, because they have a whole lot of competition on the web when it comes to the soft/art market.
In layman’s terms, it seems like models like Titania Lyn or Isabella Reneaux wouldn’t be POTM, but they’re hugely popular with people on the web. And I’m sure the hard-copy subscriber base expects something different than online subscribers.
That said, Leanna Decker is so gorgeous that I have no doubt she has wide appeal, whether she’s doing pictorials meant for the web or the more traditional pictorials used for the hard copy.
The only thing I hope Playboy’s decision-makers keep in mind is that a woman this gorgeous doesn’t need all the digital and stylistic dressings applied to images used in hard copy. Seriously, go natural and let her natural beauty shine through, and the fans will love the result.
