The 26-year-old Virginia native is an adept horseman with a metalsmithing degree who is eager to acquire skills with more practical life applications. “I learned glassblowing. It’s a beautiful art, and I have a decent set of lungs,” she says, laughing. Now the erstwhile iron forger and jewelry maker is vice president of Primacy Cos., which owns nightclubs and restaurants along the East Coast, including the innovative D.C. club Nation. “Along with a team of architects, I design the look of each venue, down to the lighting fixtures and matchbooks,” she says. When Manny Puig from Animal Planet’s Extreme Contact tried to turn her attention from nightspots to wild critters, Charis was happy to take off to Florida for the challenge. “We talked for hours — he showed me pictures of sharks and we became interested in what each other did,” she says. “He said, ‘Come jump into the ocean and we’ll feed 800-pound groupers for the show.’ I’m going to do a few episodes because I like fun stunts that get me noticed and also help me conquer my fears.” Is Miss February daring at love, too? “I don’t believe in love at first sight, but I think there can be lust at first sight,” she purrs. “For me, it’s not about the way someone looks; it’s his personality that makes him sexy. Showing initiative and creativity in making something romantic drives me crazy. I love that. It could be a candlelit picnic in the backyard or being flown to Paris — simple or grand, it doesn’t matter. I’m not one to plan ahead. I just take opportunities as they come.”

The 21-year-old aspiring actor was a teacher’s aide in high school and studied criminal justice at the University of Cincinnati before taking time off to fulfill her teenage fantasy of posing for Playboy, first in October 2000′s Girls of Conference USA and then as Playboy’s first Cyber Girl of the Month. “If I go back to finish school someday, I’d like to work my way up to being a homicide detective,” she says. “I also think drugs are a big problem today, especially with younger kids. I’ve always wanted to see if I could fix that somehow. I would just like to help get one drug dealer off the street.”
Stephanie recently went on Hef’s excellent European vacation, and says it was love at first sight. “I don’t know how to explain him — he’s so not the average guy,” she says. “He is constantly working on the magazine or his scrapbook – always going, going, going. It’s unbelievable.” Although Stephanie enjoys traveling at Hef speed, anyone who meets Miss October finds her remarkably grounded. “I never forget where I came from,” she says. “After I moved to Los Angeles, a lot of people back home said, ‘I’m surprised — you haven’t changed at all.’ Sometimes it’s hard to find someone who cares enough to listen to your problems, but that’s how I am. You might have to go back someday, so why change into something you’re not? I’m totally down-to-earth.”

Fresh from the plane and now in our Los Angeles studio, Luci becomes wide-eyed and leans in to whisper like she’s confessing a dirty secret when we ask if she prefers the States. “New York is just a larger London, while Los Angeles is a completely different world,” she says. “I would choose to live here because I love this hot weather.”
When we ask Luci whether she prefers American guys to British men, she plays the diplomat. “They’ve both got sexy qualities,” she says. “I used to go for bad boys — muscled, toned, maybe with some tattoos.
