Colleen Shannon is the Playboy Playmate for January 2004. The exhaustive search for our 50th Anniversary Playmate took us all over North America, as we feverishly collected test shots of nearly 10,000 hopefuls. This Miss January not only needed to shine alongside the classic beauties of Playboy’s past but also had to represent the ideal for the next half century of Centerfolds.
Colleen moved to California 10 years ago after a childhood spent on one of Alaska’s tiny Aleutian Islands. “I lived on a fishing boat while my dad built a beautiful house for us on Pelican Island, where about 300 people live,” she says. “There were no cars, no fruit — we had to drink Tang and powdered milk. It was wild.”
Though Miss January now resides in more cosmopolitan Los Angeles, she hasn’t necessarily given up the wild life. You may recognize Colleen from music videos by Crazy Town, Blues Traveler and Smash Mouth. She also keeps the music pumping as a DJ spinning at L.A. clubs and as a guest DJ at events like MTV’s spring break special in Cancún. “A few years ago my boyfriend at the time gave me a hundred records, and I borrowed my friend’s turntable and started playing around,” she says. “Music is the only thing that has ever given me chills through my body. I change my style every year, so I don’t specialize in one type of music. I’ve done hip-hop, jungle, disco, reggae and techno. There are so many different ways you can blend music. If you feel it, the people on the dance floor are going to feel it.”
Colleen is taking psychology classes, and in her spare time she likes to wakeboard and snowboard or comb vintage record stores to add to her formidable vinyl collection. She’s got the beat, and she wants her men to pick it up, too. “If a guy doesn’t like music, it kind of puts a damper on things,” she says. “It’s nice to sit in someone’s room and play records for a guy who is going to like them. I’m looking for a man who is fun and spontaneous — someone who won’t take me out on a date and make me think about where to go. I like a man with a plan, for sure.”
As the 50th Anniversary Playmate, Colleen’s plan is to keep dancing to her own rhythm. “Everyone is put here to do something,” she says. “Your subconscious tells you the things that you love to do, but a lot of people put those things aside. I think if you stick to the things you love, nine times out of 10, circumstances are going to go your way and you will live a happy life.”

Deisy and Sarah Teles are the Playboy Playmates for December 2003. Brazilian twins Sarah and Deisy Teles make us wish that studying Portuguese were mandatory in college. Although the girls are also fluent in Spanish and Italian (their grandparents moved to Brazil from Italy), they are just learning English, so we have to share them with a translator. When they arrive in Los Angeles from their home in São Paulo, the 20-year-old bronzed beauties exude a zest for life that crosses all language barriers. “We love the tropical weather and the amazing food in Brazil,” they say. “The carnival is so vibrant, with music and dancing on the beach all night. Though their parents are proud that their daughters have now come to America to work, the twins plan to return to Brazil to attend college soon. “I want to study psychology,” says Deisy, “because I think the human mind is fascinating and I want to know why people behave the way they do.” Sarah plans to study medicine and would like to open her own beauty salon. “I want to have it in Brazil, because my aunts and my mom are all stylists,” she says. “It’s always better when your family works for your business. I want to be surrounded by family and friends and enjoy every moment of life to its fullest.”

We heard Miss February likes riding things with a little more horsepower, such as her Harley-Davidson motorcycle. “I always rode on the back of my girlfriend’s Harley, and all the guys thought she was totally hot, so I bought my own,” she says. “I’ve had my license for about a year. Recently I went to a biker rally in Austin where all types of people on their hot rods and choppers ride down Sixth Street looking cool. The girls take off their clothes. It’s really wild. I’m more of a weekend biker — not real hardcore or anything. Most guys I know already have their own bikes, so they’re not into getting on the back of mine, but I do take my girlfriends for rides. Nicole Narain is the Playboy Playmate for January 2002. It was a treat to have Nicole Narain hang out at our Chicago office for a month. During the photo shoot, she gave us some sweet advice: If a man drinks a lot of pineapple juice, his semen will taste better. After that, every guy in the office was walking around, pineapple juice in hand, hoping Nicole would notice. Outside our office, Nicole was also a magnet. The night we took her to Le Colonial on Rush Street, men mobbed her at the bar, commenting on everything from the 27-year-old’s striking looks to her tattoos. She handled them deftly. Miss January is a woman who can take care of herself — and others. Before we even opened our menus, she told us what we should have and ordered everything.
Nicole is both a model and an inventor. Her latest brainchild, the Optical Ear, addresses her biggest pet peeve — dirty ears. “It’s a handheld mirror that lights up,” she explains. “Two rotating mirrors are attached to it. You face another mirror and stick the Optical Ear inside your ear canal. Then you can see the reflection.” Ever since Nicole pointed this out, we can’t stop looking into women’s ears. But we haven’t seen any as cute as Nicole’s.

This tall drink of vodka took a break from studying business and marketing in college to get a full-time job as a model. “I have a real estate license and work as an agent as a hobby,” admits the self-proclaimed workaholic. “Sometimes I’ll have three bookings a day and I’m still not satisfied. I’ve also started taking acting classes and was in a movie, the comedy Jungle Juice. I play a hotel worker who tries to make sure that the guests are always drinking and having a good time.” So how does the real Anka tie one on? “I get a table with a bunch of girlfriends at one of the hot South Beach clubs and we get wild until five in the morning,” she says. “We’ll get a bottle of champagne, spray people and get up on the tables and dance all night. Then we’ll get into our swimsuits and go to the beach and sleep in the sun.” When she’s not painting the town red, the 21-year-old enjoys traveling the world and playing music on her keyboard at home. “I studied piano for five years and I used to compose,” she says. “Music helps me relax.”
We were floored when Miss February told us that she doesn’t have a valentine. “We don’t live in a perfect world, so there can’t be a perfect guy for me,” she says. “I go more for personality than looks.” When we asked her if she would rather have sex or chocolate for Valentine’s Day, she didn’t miss a beat. “Chocolate can wait and is always accessible,” she says, laughing. “You never know when you are going to have great sex!”

Coco Austin, Ice-T’s wife who is most famous for her bootylicious assets, is starring in a new reality tv show “Ice Loves Coco”. We thought we’d visit Coco’s March 2008 Playboy photo shoot to reacquaint ourselves with her luscious bust and hot phat ass!
“The name Coco, was adopted by my half/brother, 20 years ago. He couldn’t say my name Nicole so it went from Cole Cole to Coco and stuck ever since.
My parents, Tina and Steve Austin, were both actors and met as children on the set of “Bonanza”. I took Jazz, tap, Ballet, Hiphop at a young age and continue through my adult life. When i was 14 years old, I entered a Model and Talent search for Beverly Hills Studios, in California. I was 1 of 5 winners that got a scholarship to their school. A fun tid-bit is Jessica Alba was in my class with me too.
At 18 I started competing in contests and fitness competitions. I won Miss Ujena Fitness in 1998. I then started my modeling career in swimsuits and lingerie and did countless, calendars,videos, and print work. Since I was only 5’2 at 130 pounds with measurements like 39-23-40 I was limited to just body modeling.. I then caught Playboy’s eye and worked for them.
I met Ice-T on a movie set in California 2002 when I was 22 years old, through a producer friend. We were inseparable after that and eloped in Vegas. We’ve been in a relationship for 9 years now and at the moment we have no children together. Right now my main residence is in New Jersey, where Ice films Law and Order year round. He’s going on 10 years with NBC! We also have what we call our family home in Arizona and in Sunny Isles Beach Florida we have our vacation spot.
2010 I received the UMA award for “Best Body of the Year”. I’m very honored because there’s a lot of beautiful women in the world and to stand out amongst the rest is hard, plus they also recognize the hard work I commit my body to.

They begin and end with her beloved Boston Celtics. “Kevin Garnett is my favorite player, but I also love Paul Pierce and Ray Allen,” our 27-year-old Miss June says about the team’s trio of stars, dubbed the Big Three. “Truthfully, though, I love the Celtics, period, because there’s nothing like them and their fans. The atmosphere is absolutely electric during games. Even when they’re playing the worst team in the league, their fans are bonkers. I know I am — especially when the refs make a bad call. So as crazy as it sounds, I never felt naked when I was shooting my pictorial. In fact, I loved it. Sandra Hubby may be the only woman we know who is equally comfortable riding a jet to a modeling assignment in a far-flung locale and riding a tractor back on the farm. “I learned how to drive a tractor when I was 15,” says the 25-year-old Ohio native. “My friends and I were always outside playing in the woods, building forts and that sort of thing. Now I live on a 100-acre farm without a neighbor in sight, so this summer I was driving around the whole spread, cutting hay.”
Although Miss March says she started daydreaming about being a model at the age of nine, she wasn’t exactly the type to priss and preen. “Growing up I never cared about looking perfect every day,” she says. “I would rather wear jeans and hang out with the guys.” After high school Sandra even planned to become a Marine but did a career 180 just before she had to take her final oath and ship out. “I wanted to do stuff they wouldn’t let a female do, like drive a tank,” she says. “I was hoping to become a helicopter crew chief, but in my heart I really wanted to model and maybe act.” The Corps’ loss was our gain. Sandra has since earned her showbiz stripes working for Hawaiian Tropic and appearing in the Meg Ryan movie Against the Ropes. Still, she never strays far from the country for too long. “I grew up raising and training horses, and there are about 80 on my farm now,” she says. “My horse, Angus, is there and we’ve bonded. He’s a good boy — I treat him as if he were my kid.”

Nicole Whitehead is the Playboy Playmate for May 2004. Licensed pilot Nicole Whitehead — yes, she flies airplanes — is absolutely fearless. “The first time I flew a plane was also the first time I went skydiving,” says the 23-year-old. “I literally dived out the plane door — they couldn’t open it fast enough. When I was free-falling I could see all this amazing scenery at one time — the ocean, the city and the area where the NASA shuttles take off. It was so pretty, I think I started to cry.” Back on solid ground, Nicole, with ample Southern charm (she’s from Alabama and lives in Florida), explained to the pilot that while skydiving was a trip, she would be even more excited actually flying the plane. How could he resist? “He took me up and let me take the controls,” she says. “It was the best day I ever had. I knew right then that I had to fly for a living.” Nicole earned her pilot’s license in August 2003 and is currently chalking up solo flight hours.
Meanwhile, to help pay for flight school, she works at a local bar (most requested drink: Alabama slammer), models (you may have spotted her on the 2001 cover of Playboy’s Natural Beauties special edition) and steals the spotlight in music videos (in Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs,” she dances — or bangs — herself into a frenzy). While definitely a girl on the rise, Nicole isn’t going after red carpet megafame. “I would be perfectly happy flying other celebrities around the world rather than being one myself,” she says.
