Playboy: You have a beautiful accent. Where are you from?
Anna: I was born in Ukraine but my parents and I moved to Germany when I was one year old.
Playboy: What brought you to America?
Anna: I went to America to take some English lessons because I will start to take some acting classes in June.
Playboy: Are you currently single?
Anna: [Laughs] Yes, I’m single.
Playboy: What is most sensual to you in the bedroom?
Anna: I like a relaxing, romantically designed bedroom with soft light.
Playboy: What turns you on most in the opposite sex?
Anna: My biggest turn-ons are guys who have a sense of humor and smell good. He must be intelligent, a gentleman and sporty because I do a lot of sports. I love if a man has a sexy butt. Most importantly, I am turned on by a guy who is trying to occupy my heart in style and elegance.
Playboy: Tell us about the craziest adventure you’ve had since moving here.
Anna: I did my first ski trip to St. Moritz, and after my first two private lessons we took the lift to the après-ski party at 3000 meters. As soon as we arrived, the staff told us they close in 10 minutes and we have to ski down because the lift didn’t go down. I’m happy that I’ve done it without injury. [laughs]

Anna: My absolute favorite beer is with flavor. It’s normal German beer mixed with Sprite.

Anna: My goal is to get a role as an actor after my study.

Ulrika’s parents and younger sister still live there. Her father is a paramedic, her mother runs a day care center and sister Pernilla is at school studying to be a makeup artist. When Ulrika was younger the family traveled across North America, staying in Winnipeg with her pro-hockey-player uncle, Willy Lindstrom, while his NHL team, the Edmonton Oilers, won the Stanley Cup for the second year running. But what Ulrika remembers more vividly are Memphis and Graceland – “that was before they allowed visitors inside the house,” she says – and Disneyland and Hawaii. Now she lives in Florida, across the street from the beach in Fort Lauderdale. There, early risers may find Miss November in-line skating with her dog, Casper, who is part greyhound, part Border collie. “We take turns being in front,” she says. “Casper’s a very competitive dog. It’s in his genes. He doesn’t like to fall behind, so I sometimes let him tow me to keep him happy.”
Swedes have a reputation for forthright common sense and a taste for ancestral nostalgia, and Ulrika is no exception. As a sportswear and swimwear model she has all the work she can handle, and she loves her career in front of the cameras. “You’re always meeting new people in this job, and you never stop learning. It gives me freedom and lets me travel, and for now that’s what I need,” she says in her matter-of-fact Swedish manner. “But one day I’ll have to try something else. A new challenge. The Vikings understood that good looks don’t last forever. Their idea of success was to die young, go to Valhalla and fight with the gods against the giants.” She laughs. “That’s not my plan, far from it, though I have always loved reading about Viking mythology. When I was a kid my friends would be out playing and I’d stay in our backyard on a blanket in the sun with a pile of books. It probably sounds as if I was a dreamy loner, but that was my idea of happiness – reading about Odin and Thor, having fantasies of living in an old castle long ago. If we could travel through time, that’s where you would have found me, somewhere back in the 11th century.” In the 20th century, Ulrika has a different kind of fairy tale: “to live on a farm, some old place deep in the countryside with horses and dogs, and someone I love — to make everything perfect.” Until that time it’s hard work and daily exercise, with music for inspiration: Stone Temple Pilots and Metallica to stretch the muscles, Vivaldi and the chants of Tibetan monks for relaxation. Ulrika skates most days, plays squash and lifts weights. Is it worth the effort? Did the Vikings have horns on their helmets?

Raquel Pomplun is our Playboy Playmate of the Year for 2013. Felicidades are in order for Raquel Pomplun, our Miss April 2012, and now newly crowned Playmate of the Year 2013. A spirited Latina raised in Tijuana, Mexico, Raquel’s ascent to the top of the Playmate hierarchy has been one of note. “Actually, I was discovered by a receptionist at the Playboy office,” she says with a contagious laugh. “I sent my picture, and two weeks later, they called and invited me to do a test shoot.” Raquel is no stranger to a warm welcome – before she was a Playmate, she was receptionist, and with a smile like hers, she must have been good at her job. These days, Raquel has nixed the Rolodex – she’s a successful model, co-host on Playboy XM Radio’s Playmates Present, presenter for Blackbelt TV, and most recently, an actress in Wayne Holloway’s Snake and Mongoose. “I want to live life to the fullest,” she says. For a woman on top of the world, Raquel is delightfully down to earth, and we think it’s safe to say that this Playmate will have a full plate for years to come.

Stacy Marie Fuson is the Playboy Playmate for February 1999. I’m warning you,” says Stacy Fuson as she sits down to a mozzarella salad and a plate of pot stickers in a Sunset Boulevard restaurant, “I eat a lot.” But, then, she needs the nourishment. Ever since moving to Los Angeles from Tacoma, Washington two years ago, Stacy has been on the go — modeling, doing shows for Ocean Pacific swimwear, traveling the world, taking acting classes, appearing in a music video and on a couple of episodes of Baywatch, calling her mother every night and occasionally checking in with her boyfriend, who, inconveniently, lives in France.
A veteran model at the age of 20 (she started appearing in beauty contests when she was four), Stacy is enjoying her whirlwind life and focusing on an acting career. Of course, she finds time to play, too. “You should tell your readers,” she announces midbite, “that I love my bird.”
Q: Your bird?
A: My cockatiel, Pretty Bird. I love her. She’s so smart. She can pick up her claw and wave at you. She’s tame, but to get a bird to be that tame, you have to spend a lot of time with it.
Q: So how do you spend quality time with a cockatiel?
A: I take her into the shower with me. She sits on the shower ledge, and I splash water on her. She shakes her wings and acts like she’s taking a bath.
Q: How did a girl from Tacoma end up in Los Angeles?
A: I’d always wanted to move to L.A. After I graduated from high school, I just got up one morning and said, “Mom, I’m leaving for L.A. in a couple of weeks.” I felt I had to do it. I came here when I was 18, and soon after that I was on the cover of the October 1997 Playboy.
Q: Sounds easy.
A: It was strange. I had done a Playmate test shoot, and they asked me to stand in for another model for a lighting test. I did that, and then they had a meeting and asked, “Do you want to work tomorrow?” I said, “Sure, what will I be doing?” They said, “Well, we’re going to put you on the October cover.” I was shocked.
Q: Had you ever thought about posing for Playboy?
A: It had crossed my mind. My freshman year in high school, I got a Rabbit Head decal. I’ve thought about being in the magazine ever since. [Laughs] That sticker is still on my bedroom door.
Q: Were you popular in high school?
A: I was an ordinary girl, I guess. Mostly, I wanted to hang out with my older brother, who would help me any time I had a problem. Sometimes I had crushes on his friends, but they thought of me as just Doug’s little sister.
Q: What are they going to think of Doug’s little sister now?
A: They’ll probably be surprised. One of my brother’s friends used to make fun of my boobs, saying I should wear Band-Aids on them. Before high school, I didn’t have much there. But then I started to fill out, and one day he was like, “Wow, what happened to you?” So now I rub it in: “Didn’t you make fun of me because I didn’t have anything there?”
Q: Do you miss Washington?
A: I miss fishing. My family would go fishing where the Columbia River flows into the ocean. Everybody would go: my mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, aunt and uncle. I loved it. If I ever have enough money, I’m going to buy a boat and take my family fishing — to that same spot.
